WHEN Muammar Gaddafi rose from the ranks to overthrow the oppressive regime in Libya 42 years ago, ZAPU and the whole Africa celebrated because he had rid the people of Libya of an oppressive regime. ZAPU was thankful to Gaddafi and the whole of Libya for the support they gave to our liberation struggle against colonial rule.

SPEECH BY ZAPU PRESIDENT, DR DUMISO DABENGWA, ON THE OCCASION TO CELEBRATE THE 5OTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNITED NATIONS’ ADOPTION OF RESOULTION 1514 - THE DECLARATION ON THE GRANTING OF INDEPENDENCE TO COLONIAL COUNTRIES AND PEOPLES. ALGIERS, 13TH AND 14TH DECEMBER 2010.
ZAPU will be participating in the forthcoming national and local elections with the objective of winning and forming the next government of Zimbabwe.
Dr Dumiso Dabengwa has appealed to the British, to assist in re-skilling and training Zimbabweans living in the UK to empower them to contribute fully, to the recovery of Zimbabwe should they return. Dr Dabengwa was speaking at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) in London, Wednesday 12th January 2011.
The President of the revived ZAPU, Dumiso Dabengwa, is the guest on Question Time.
