I wish to express my appreciation at the relaunch of our website.
Communication in many forms is vital for any organization. The proliferation of information sources in our modern world presents opportunities, yet at the same time poses existential threats to those organizations which do not take seriously the importance of controlling reliable sources availed to the public about them.
Our Party has, for too long gone without that central point that members, supporters and the public at large, at home and internationally could reach into to judge for themselves the great promise our vision has for Zimbabwe. The reasons for this void are many and complex; I will not dwell on them here. What is important is that we are at this stage and I am delighted to relaunch our website, which with its clear layout and richness and depth of content will truly be a rich source of information for all. The Presidency have directed that critical events and dates are included alongside current developments and the way forward for the future such as: ZAPU Congress reports of October 1984; April 1988; August 2010; and August 2016 with its amended party constitution
Members must quickly embrace the website as their own. They should not hold back on putting forward ideas on how best this important mouthpiece of ZAPU should be adapted to suit their aspirations as well as sharing the many very positive activities and achievements they are aware of in the daily life of ZAPU.
There are always many hands in bringing out a success as in the relaunch of our website. I thank all who have contributed and no doubt will continue to input into this venture. However, I wish to single out Comrade Zenzele Mazibuko for the design and development of the website, very ably assisted by Comrade Washie Jamela, who has and will continue with oversight of the whole project. The dedication and diligence exhibited by Comrade Mazibuko deserves special commendation and points to what indeed we can achieve when we direct our talents towards the gaols of uplifting our Party and nation.
My hope is that all members will look to the website as the primary source of news and inspiration, reading daily, first thing in the morning and last reflection before retiring to bed.
Dr Dabengwa. ZAPU President.
