Domestic Private Sector Development

Domestic Private Sector Development

In developing the domestic private sector, emphasis will be placed on the establishment of new enterprise, especially in the manufacturing sector. The establishment of new enterprises will create productive employment which is a pre-requisite for the realization of the right to an adequate standard of living, that is, poverty eradication. In addition, the establishment of manufacturing enterprises will relieve the country from the balance of payment pressure.

At the present moment Zimbabwe is heavily dependent on imports of manufactured foods. Furthermore, the establishment of new enterprises will broaden the tax base. The broad tax base will enable the government to collect enough revenue for financing the development of economic infrastructure, health services and education.
